Production technology

Metalworking
Mz Aspiratori has two automatic laser cutting workshops, mechanical and hydraulic presses with a capacity of up to 500 tons (which allows pressing all parts up to 1800 mm in size), sheet metal bending presses, and rollers for axial fans.

Welding
It is of strategic importance in the fan production process; most of the welding work is performed at eight robotic sites:
- 3 for small fan parts;
- 2 for impellers;
- 3 for the casings.
Skilled workers perform the rest of the operations under a license issued by the Italian Institute of Welding (IIS) by UNI EN287-1.

Sandblasting and painting
Standard fan painting: based on Qualicoat polyester powder with polymerization at 200 °C, average thickness of 70 microns; Pre-treatment: metal phosphating and degreasing or shot blasting (2.5 grit) or both methods applied together. The average thermal resistance of the coating is 150 °C with peak values up to 180 °C. The impellers are coated with gray paint with a moderate thermal resistance of 150 °C.

Balancing
All impellers produced by MZ Aspiratori are balanced statically and dynamically by ISO 21940/11 concerning the balancing degree 6.3. The value of the permissible residual eccentricity is recorded in a chart that applies to the entire impeller and must be the same on both planes to have the correct dynamic tolerances.

Testing
All fans operate on alternating currents of up to 450 kW of power and are checked using tests followed by vibration testing. This control is carried out by ISO14694 cat.BV-3 and a vibration test report is issued upon request.

Research and development
Research and development of new products and production processes is the driving force behind MzAspiratori. A lot of resources are devoted to this issue to improve quality while reducing production costs, improving production processes, and standardizing parts through studying the technical department in cooperation with production managers. This constant exchange of ideas and information between departments makes the company extremely flexible. Much attention is paid, of course, to improving the hydrodynamic performance of the fans.
